Where should you begin when a kizomba course offers many different movements? Give the basics a clear place in your practice. The Three Basics is one of the opening lessons in the Academy’s beginner kizomba course with Felipe y Tiago.

What is this class for?

The lesson is named around three basics within a course designed for people who are new to kizomba. Use the recording to learn the specific actions and explanations before extending your practice to later movement lessons. Keep one basic action as a manageable task at a time.

How can you practise a basic movement?

Watch a short section and identify the demonstrated order. Try recalling that order at a comfortable pace, then return to the explanation for the detail you want to clarify. A small, repeatable action gives you a clearer comparison between attempts.

Once a section feels familiar, check how it begins and ends. Practise returning to the same starting point so you can repeat the task under similar conditions. Keep a brief note of anything you want to revisit in the next session.

Study leading and following

With a practice partner, agree on roles and the basic action you are studying. Ask about one concrete moment in the shared timing or preparation. Revisit a familiar section from the other role in a separate attempt when both people want to, giving the newer perspective enough time.

What comes next in the beginner course?

The supplied class list continues with front-and-back basics and the escalera or L step, alongside further movement and technique lessons. Return to the basics whenever you want a familiar foundation for a new practice task.
