Choose your path

Find the best way to learn, based on how you dance right now. Three guided 16-week journeys to take the guesswork out of where to start.

This path is for dancers who usually dance one role and want to understand, practice, and experience the other one.

This path is for you if

  • You mostly dance one role
  • You feel curious about the other role
  • You want better connection and awareness
  • You want to understand your partners more deeply

What you’ll work on

  • Foundations of the other role
  • Clear movement and coordination
  • Connection and communication
  • Confidence when changing perspective
  • Dancing without pressure or comparison

Your 16-week journey

A guide, not a rule — adapt it to your rhythm.

1st Week – Let’s be ambidextrous with guidance
All you want to do first is to take a styling class. Why is this? All of our styling classes have completely taken out any gendered-biased learning and have parts and pieces of all aspects of dance, so it’s a good way to start warming up both your legs and both your arms for the journey ahead! Let’s start working on being ambidextrous.
2nd and 3rd Week – Learning what Symmetry is
Congratulations! Now the next big step you want to take is understanding what symmetry is. It can be tricky at first but once you get the hand of it, I promise, it’ll make everything easy. We know it usually takes some time to master so we’ve prepared this course with begginer steps so it is easy to comprehend. Take your time, you have two weeks for this one!
4th Week – The important checklist of dances
Now that we can dance solo a little bit and also understand what symmetry is, let’s start with the basic vocabulary. This one is very easy, they’re simply 14 basic bachata concepts we want you to know very well. They’re very fast videos of 1-5 minutes long and you have a week! Let’s do this! We have the same for kizomba and for salsa if you explore the classes if you need them too.
5th Week – A very much needed technique.
Let’s work on connection this week! For this one you need a partner, or various ones. And we want you to understand connection and work on body language and weight shifts! It does not matter if you’re here for kizomba, bachata or salsa. Make sure you go to our kizomba course and scroll to the Technique Excercises Class! You have one week to be constantly practicing this excercise!
6th Week – Puzzles? For dancing?
Oki! Are you ready for what comes next? Puzzles! Yes, that’s it! You reaaally want and need to take this puzzle class. Understanding how creating a dance works is fundamental , it doesn’t matter if you’re learning to lead or to follow, you need to understand how combinations work so we create new ones.
7th Week – Let’s start the fun for socials!
Now that you know all about symmetry, puzzles, beginner concepts and names, a bit of styling and technique. How about we start diving into moves? Try one of these two this week. Let’s start with cool stuff you can use tonight in the social.
8th & 9th Week – Fundamentals matter
Oki! You know all the fundamentals so we’re sure by now you can ace your way through the beginner’s course!! Some classes you should be able to simply listen to them by now but most of them hold important information you must know. Take your time and really dig in this course for after you complete it you can safely dance the other role in socials!
10th Week – Some more combos for social dancing
Ok, let’s go! Are you ready for a full combo you can do in socials? Whether you’re learning to lead or to follow, let’s try this class, shall we?
11th Week – Let’s try Rolerotation
Ok… we’ve been holding out but… are you ready to try some rolerotation? The very first class of the school. Let’s do this! We can do this!
12th Week – Arm technique
It’s time to step it up a little bit, let’s try some more complicated arm technique so we start adding texture to your repertoires and techniques. This week, let’s work on arm techniques.
13th Week – Fillers are also important for dancing
You might have noticed by now that sometimes you end up doing basics on a loop thinking about what’s next… or watching your lead thinking for moves… That’s completely normal! That’s what this class is for!
14th Week – Let’s level up a little bit
Let’s complicate things a little bit now, shall we? Let’s add check turns. By now you should be able to take dance classes in both roles . So can we please ask that this week you take this class twice? We know you can do it: once as a lead and once a follow. Let’s do it!
15th Week – Time for a Rolerotation workshop
Let’s learn two moves with the fundamentals Giving and Stealing now from Elena and Dennis from Berlin. We know you’re going to nail this class! We know it’s rolerotation but we still ask you to do it twice! Since you will ALWAYS learn double.
16th Week – The final test for this first journey
Congratulations!!! You made it!! Four months! They passed fast, right? You are more than ready to take on this class now in both roles. We hope you’ve loved this journey with us and now you can text us every Tuesday, tell us where you feel you are in your journey and we’ll recommend where to continue next.

This path is for dancers who already use both roles and want structure, clarity, and long-term growth. Not more information. Better understanding.

This path is for you if

  • You already dance both roles
  • You feel stuck or inconsistent
  • You want clearer transitions and choices
  • You want to refine how and when you use each role

What you’ll work on

  • Moving comfortably between roles
  • Awareness, timing, and decision making
  • Musicality and expression from both perspectives
  • Adapting to different partners
  • Building a personal way of dancing both roles

Your 16-week journey

A guide, not a rule — adapt it to your rhythm.

1st Week – Getting into the right mindset
First things first, we want you to start with the right mindset! We’ve been training both roles dancers for almost a decade now and the main issues are always the most common ones. Please, let’s go to the Dance Tips Series and listen, you don’t need to dance, just listen, to the episodes 2, 5, 7, 10 and 15.
2nd and 3rd Week – Important classes for both roles dancers
Welcome to the second week! Now for this one we’re not going to ask you to take all 50 classes straight away. But we do want you to learn some important stuff and concepts. Click on the image to go to the Rolerotation Course and make sure you watch and learn the first four technique classes. These are the fundamentals for any dancer learning both roles. After that, let’s take a rolerotation class. We’re leaving this bachata one for reference but you may pick a salsa one or a kizomba one from all classes.
4th Week – Balancing the level in both roles
We need to find the gaps in your following and your leading. For that, we would like yo to take each of these classes at least two times. The right way to do all classes from now on is Taking Them Twice! So you can get the hand of learning double from each one. Once impersonating one teacher and the second one impersonating the other teacher. This is key for both roles dancers!
5th Week – Getting more from Styling Classes
The next big mindset shift we want you to understand is… Styling is for all and it’s a main part of dancing! When a teacher teaches styling in class (it does not matter for whom they say it is) you need to learn it too! In this two class-program you will learn how to learn stylings and then introduce them to your partnerworks.
6th Week – Learning with more instructors
For this week, Felipe y Tiago already taught you how to learn with the right mindset. Important theory, balancing levels, learning all stylings. Let’s apply them all, let’s take these two workshop classes with other rolerotation teachers for this week.
7th Week – Are we ready to level up? Intermediate Rolerotation
For the next part, we need you to take 4 new classes. A mini recap, how the psychology works and then, probably the most important, the Rolerotation Step and how to apply it to one dance move, the Madrid step. The reason why we want to give you two weeks for this one is because…it’s not easy, and we know. The theory is! But it takes one or two socials to start feeling confident in the Madrid step with the Rolerotation Step. Let’s go!
8th & 9th Week – How to take a class if you dance both roles
We want you to apply everything you’ve learned until now. So we’re going to try with one role classes. The goals are simple (in theory, we know): -Learn the move in both roles -Learn lead’s and follow’s techniques -Learn all the taught styling in both roles
10th Week – Improving looks in both roles
Wow, that was a tough one! But you’re doing great! Let’s move on to the next step. We’ve been focusing so much on partnerwork technique and all the foundations of both roles, we need to dedicate some time to styling. Let’s take these two classes this week to disconnect a little bit from partnework technique. Let’s have some fun!
11th Week – Ready for both roles classes?
For this week, we want you to start expanding your repertoire so make sure you learn these two classes. Remember… as always, you need to learn it all. Either take them twice or you can learn both as you go (we know you can manage by now!)
12th Week – Filler for social dancing
We’ve come a long way! We’ve learned technique, theory, moves, styling, and repertoire. But… we know it’s a lot to digest and sometimes we need “to-go-moves” so we don’t get stuck thinking in socials. Let’s drill some easy moves and easy stylings so you’re never stuck!
13th Week – Updating your dance styles with both roles
As a both roles dancers you must know by now that you can do rolerotation in any dance style, any technique and any dance! So for this week, we know it’s much, but we want you to start understanding the differences between dances. So please, start this course, it’s okay if you only manage to take only 1 or 2 classes before next week.
14th Week – Fundamentals matter
We know you’ve been through a lot, but we really want to give you the mindset that f undamentals and basics are the most important thing . Please, watch episode 17 of this Dance Series, and retake these classes from the beginner course.
15th Week – Coordination
Next thing we want to work on is coordination. As you might have noticed by now, learning new stuff is hard. This is because we drill certain movements in our bodies and when it’s time to switch them up our body doesn’t feel natural. This is something we can fight with coordination excersices. The more you practice breaking the drill mode, the better it will always be for your dancing.
16th Week – You are ready for the next big thing
You are ready for the complete course, from begginer to advanced. It’s more than 50 classes but there’s no pressure and no time limit. Make sure you don’t skip classes, even if it’s just watching them while you eat (especially the theory ones). Once you’ve completed this course, you’ll be a great rolerotation dancer.

This path is for dancers who train alone and want to build movement, technique, and body awareness in a clear and structured way.

This path is for you if

  • You often practice alone
  • You want to improve your movement quality
  • You want better control, balance, and coordination
  • You want to feel more confident in your body

What you’ll work on

  • Body awareness and control
  • Technique and coordination
  • Musicality and timing
  • Styling for everybody
  • Movement exploration
  • Preparing your body for partner dancing

Your 16-week journey

A guide, not a rule — adapt it to your rhythm.

1st Week – Getting into the right mindset for solo dancing – The Rules of Styling
We’ve prepared this course specifically for dancers like you! You’re learning solo (or with someone, but for solo dancing) and it’s important to understand all that it involves. You can dance if you want to, or just listen, but it’s fundamental you watch this course from beginning to end. That’s your homework this week.
2nd Week – Let’s start with easy ones
This is a fun styling class! We want to bring the mood up. So, super easy, take a warm up class first! And after take the challenge class , remember, we don’t need to be perfect, just start moving with us!
3rd Week – Anatomy theory
We know this one is thick! and it’s a lot of theory, so don’t worry if you need to watch it twice to understand it all, but it’s very important that we are aligned and understand how your body works. For some nice mindset tips, please watch the episodes referenced in the dance series Tips for Everyone from Private Dance Classes.
4th and 5th Week – Let’s dive into turns
Let’s do this! Let’s work on theory, technique and actual turns. This full course is not easy, and we’re not expecting you to be a full rounded spinner in two weeks. But information is vital! We want to ask you to take this full course with no stress in mind. If you manage to do 1 turn in all techniques and types explained here, you’ve come a long way!
6th and 7th Week – Basic Arms techniques
Let’s watch and learn with this series. For this one you don’t even need to stand up, you can do the whole thing sitting down, but it’s fundamental that you complete this series. Let’s do this!
8th Week – Let’s put it in action, adding the basics
You know a lot of the theory and technique involved in arms, shoulder, elbow and hand control. How about we start putting it in action? Let’s add some basics to all of it.
9th Week – Let’s dance solo! Styles galore
We want you to be a fully rounded solo dancer. So, for this week we want you to try two different dance styles that are not partner dances. You can do it!
10th Week – Ready for harder stuff? Modern dancing
This week, we want to take you to dancing something new for a change. Modern dances is one of the most complete dance styles that involves most things your body can do dancing solo. We’re suggesting this class but you can navigate to “other styles” and choose any modern choreography you might like. Let’s go!
11th Week – Coordination is key for all stylings
Next thing we want to work on is coordination. As you might have noticed by now, learning new stuff is hard. This is because we drill certain movements in our bodies and when it’s time to switch them up our body doesn’t feel natural. This is something we can fight with coordination excersices. The more you practice breaking the drill mode, the better it will always be for your dancing. It’s a fast class, you can take it two or three times.
12th Week – Footwork
You might have noticed coordination is hard, but the more you practice, the easier it gets. For this week’s class, we want to introduce a bit of footwork. Don’t get scared! Remember you can play slomo in the controls. It’s a hard one, but it’s worth it to start working on those feet for dancing too.
13th Week – Musicality
Next, we need to work on musicality. We call musicality to switching the lines we’re dancing inside the music. Here you have three choreographies prepared on musicality and switching between musical lines so we can start working on your musical ears. Let’s enjoy some dancing!
14th Week – Training your body
Let’s train your body. It’s not just about learning about dancing and patterns. We need to take care of our body. Here is a full training session you can do from beginning to end whenever you need it. Recommendation: at least once a week.
15th Week – Let’s train different speeds
Let’s add some techniques to our bodies. You’re probably doing body rolls and spirals by now, but let’s work on them a bit more so we can make sure you know how to them in slow motion and fast motion. It is very important you know how to deconstruct a move so you can play around with speeds and textures.
16th Week – You are ready for all Styles and Stylings
You are ready now to explore all the academy has to offer. Feel free to navigate between more choreographies, more technique classes, training, stretches and other styles classes. Your journey has only just begun.
