Bachata online classes with a safe and welcoming environment for all

An Easy Bachata Combo for Social Dancing with Felipe y Tiago

If you want a manageable combination to add to your bachata, begin with a class you can repeat in small sections. Easy Bachata Combo for Socials, with Felipe y Tiago, provides a social-dance sequence and invites you to revisit the material from both roles.

What does this class focus on?

The class centres on a bachata combination for social dancing. The class also encourages returning to the lesson for role-rotation practice, giving the same sequence another place in your learning.

How can you practise with the recording?

Choose one transition and practise returning to the basic after it. Pause the recording when you need to clarify the explanation. Repeat a comparable attempt before adding the next section, so your practice has a clear point of comparison.

Leading, following and shared practice

Give leading and following separate attention before concentrating on the transition between them. If practising with a partner, agree on roles and the task first. Revisit the class when you want to explore the sequence from another perspective.

Bachata Combo for Social Dancing: Arm Technique and Styling

A social bachata combination becomes useful when you can return to it comfortably with a partner. In Fun Bachata Combo for Socials, Felipe y Tiago bring together a partnered sequence, arm technique and styling. The class gives you one combination to study and revisit in your social-dance practice.

What does this class focus on?

The lesson introduces a bachata combination intended for social dancing, with arm technique and styling included in the material. Give the shared sequence enough attention that the added movement remains understandable to both people.

How can you practise with the recording?

Learn a short section, return to your basic and repeat the same transition. When the pathway feels clear, try a musical example at a manageable tempo. Ask your partner about one specific detail, such as the preparation or the moment of a direction change.

Leading, following and shared practice

Agree on roles before starting. You can explore the same familiar foundation from leading and following over separate attempts, then compare what felt clear in each position. Keep a role change as an agreed practice task when you both want to explore it.

Bachata and Zouk

Introduction. Welcome to Bachata meets Zouk

INTRODUCTION: Welcome to the course. Welcome to Bachata Meets Zouk, where two worlds collide and you get to dance them both: if you’ve ever danced bachata and felt curious about zouk (or vice versa), this course is for you—because it’s not about choosing sides, it’s about discovering how these two unique worlds can connect, contrast, and enrich each other; across 9 powerful classes, Felipe and Jessica break down the core differences in body movement, technique, connection, and musicality between bachata and zouk, helping you build a sharper understanding of both styles and learn how to move between them with clarity, confidence, and creativity; this is not a fusion class, but a deep dive into what makes each dance special and how being fluent in both can expand your dance.

Class 1: Rotisserie Cambré

Discover the iconic “Rotisserie Cambré” a rotational body movement blending the cambré backbend with a continuous head and torso spiral. Learn how this move differs in execution and dynamics between Bachata and Zouk.

Class 2: Head Roll to Rotisserie Cambré

Explore how a simple head roll transitions into the full-body cambré spiral. This class breaks down timing, connection, and energy control in both Bachata and Zouk aesthetics.

Class 3: Neutral vs Tilted Head Spin

Master the difference between neutral and tilted axis spins. Understand how posture and spotting shape spins in Bachata versus the iconic head releases in Zouk.

Class 4: Head Movement to Shadow

Learn how to use guided head movement to smoothly enter a shadow position. Compare body mechanics and styling between both styles in this elegant transition.

Class 5: Shadow Turn

Analyze the technique behind shadow turns in both Bachata and Zouk, including rotation initiation, frame maintenance, and weight transfer as well as feet control.

Class 6: Downward Tilt / DJ Turn

We’ll break down the mechanics of safely tilting the upper body with control, how to maintain balance through the rotation, and how to blend these techniques into bachata/zouk. Ideal for followers and leaders who want to add dimension to their turns and create more visually engaging dynamics.

Class 7: Windmill vs Dive Turn Technique

In this technique class, we dive into two similar yet distinctly different movements: the bachata windmill and the zouk dive turn. While both involve a sweeping, circular energy, the mechanics, body positioning, and momentum are totally different. We’ll train how to recognise, lead, or follow each one with precision and how to avoid the common mistakes dancers make when blending styles. You’ll learn how to execute each move with clean dynamics, protect your body, and use the right muscular engagement to stay safe and expressive.

Class 8: Lateral Wave

Break down the lateral wave and understand how similar body isolations are applied in Bachata’s more grounded styling.

Class 9: Cambré Rotation + Rotisserie Head

Conclude with a full-body movement that blends Zouk’s flowing headwork with Bachata’s cambré. Learn to connect both energies for fluidity, safety, and musicality.

Bachata Solo Technique Class - Learn Spirals for Smooth and Fluid Movements

How to Practise Bachata Spirals: Solo Movement Technique

If you want smoother connections between movements, spirals give you a specific technique to study. The Academy’s Bachata Solo Technique class introduces spirals with attention to fluid movement and coordination. You can give this material its own solo practice time alongside your partner dancing.

What is the class about?

The lesson focuses on spirals in bachata, with an emphasis on smooth and fluid movement. Use the demonstrated material as the reference for your practice rather than trying to reproduce an unrelated performance shape.

How can you make solo practice useful?

Choose one short section, try it without the screen, then return to the detail you need. Start with a comfortable range and a manageable pace. A short recording of the same task can help you notice whether the transition between actions becomes more deliberate.

Where does this fit when learning both roles?

Solo movement and partner communication deserve their own attention. You can study your coordination while learning leading, following or both, then explore how it fits into an agreed partnered task. Keep the movement understandable to both people when taking an experiment into partnerwork.

En Dehors Turns: Open-Spin Technique for Social Dancing

Felipe Ramírez’s En Dehors class introduces the technique of open spins. The lesson uses en dedans and en dehors to distinguish ways of organising a turn, giving you precise language for the technique you are studying.

What can you study in this class?

The focus is the technique behind en dehors, or open, spins. Keep the terminology attached to the demonstration you are studying so that your practice follows one clear explanation.

How can you work with the online lesson?

Begin with a short section and one observable goal, such as maintaining control of the finish. Pause and replay the demonstration when you need a detail clarified. Once the task is understandable, return to it in later sessions rather than treating one viewing as the end of practice.

How can you compare this with another turning class?

Study each technique separately before comparing them. Use the same manageable practice conditions and note what the teacher explains differently. If a question remains unclear, bring that specific question to feedback instead of combining uncertain instructions from several lessons.

En Dedans Spins and Contragiro: Online Turning Technique

A turning problem becomes easier to investigate when you know which technique you are practising. Felipe Ramírez’s En Dedans Spins class introduces the foundations of this turn, with reference to contragiros in Latin dancing. It is an individual technique lesson you can revisit alongside your social-dance practice.

What does the class introduce?

Felipe Ramírez introduces the basics of en dedans turns and their connection to contragiro practice. The lesson gives you a named technique to study, helping you keep one explanation consistent while learning.

What is a useful practice goal?

Use a controlled attempt and an intentional finish as your starting task. Watch a short demonstration, practise it at a manageable pace and notice whether you can return to a familiar basic afterwards. Change one detail at a time rather than adding more rotations before the first task feels clear.

How does this fit with social dancing?

Give individual turning technique separate attention from the information exchanged in partnerwork. If you practise with someone, agree on roles and use a simple shared task. Learning the other role can also help you notice preparation and timing from another perspective.

How to Improve Arm Styling in Bachata and Salsa

When your arms feel disconnected from the rest of your dancing, a technique class can give you something more specific to practise. In Arm Styling Technique, Felipe y Tiago work on arm, hand and joint control for social dancing. The class is for dancers who lead, follow or learn both roles.

What is the focus of this arm-styling class?

The lesson focuses on controlling the arms, hands and the articulations involved in styling. It connects that technique to bachata, salsa and other dance contexts. The emphasis is on the way you organise a movement, alongside the shape you choose.

How can you practise from the recording?

Choose one short movement rather than a complete sequence. Watch the demonstration, pause and repeat it slowly. Notice whether you can begin and finish the movement deliberately, then try it within a simple basic you already understand. Return to the same detail over several sessions.

Is arm styling available in both roles?

Yes. This class is for dancers who lead, follow or study both roles. When you take styling into partnerwork, remain attentive to your shared space and the communication of the movement. You can explore personal expression while continuing in your agreed role.

How to Improve Bachata Body Rolls: Front Waves and Side Rolls

If a body roll feels difficult to coordinate, begin with a clear demonstration and one movement to study. The RoleRotation Academy class How to Do Body Rolls – Technique, with Tiago Adegas, focuses on front body waves and side body rolls. It gives you a specific lesson to return to while developing your solo movement technique.

What does the body-roll class cover?

In this class, Tiago Adegas introduces front body waves and side body rolls, with attention to solo body technique. These two movement pathways give you specific material to study at a comfortable range.

How can you use the lesson in home practice?

Choose one demonstrated pathway and watch a short section. Pause, make an attempt, then replay the detail that remains unclear. Use a comfortable range and compare the same movement across attempts.

Can you study body technique while learning either dance role?

You can give solo movement its own practice time alongside leading, following or learning both roles. Understanding your own coordination gives you a clearer question to bring to partnered practice. A solo technique lesson and a partner-communication lesson address different parts of your dancing.

How to Practise Dance at Home and Get Unstuck

Taking another class can be enjoyable, but progress also depends on what happens between explanations. When you feel stuck, choose a smaller question and investigate it through practice. This works whether you study bachata, salsa, kizomba or a second dance role. A focused session gives you evidence about one skill you can improve.

How should I practise bachata at home?

Choose one observable question, such as whether you finish each weight change. Repeat slowly, add a song and record a short attempt. A focused session is easier to evaluate than dancing randomly for a long time. Return to the same question over several sessions.

Why am I stuck even though I keep taking dance classes?

More classes may not resolve an unidentified practice problem. Review a short recording for timing, weight placement and upper-body choices separately. Choose one variable and work on it over repeated sessions. Specific feedback can help you decide what to practise instead of adding another unrelated combination.

How can I learn from online dance lessons instead of just watching them?

Choose one problem and the lesson section that addresses it. Watch once, then try it, pause and repeat as needed. Return to the same short section across several sessions. Judge the session by what you can do afterwards rather than how many videos you finished.

A short practice structure you can repeat

  1. Choose one observable question. You might check whether each weight change finishes, whether a turn returns on time or whether preparation for a direction change is clear. Pick a short lesson section that addresses it.
  2. Watch the explanation and make an attempt without the screen. Pause and replay the specific detail you need, then try again. Alternate viewing and movement so watching remains connected to doing.
  3. Review a short recording when useful. Check timing, weight placement and upper-body choices separately rather than trying to judge everything at once. Compare the same task across attempts so a change is easier to see.
  4. Finish by writing one observation and the next practice task. Return to the same question over several sessions before replacing it with a new combination. With a partner, keep roles and feedback expectations clear.

A practice session need not produce a dramatic transformation to be useful. Understanding one source of confusion gives you a clearer next step. If the pattern remains unclear, bring that specific question to feedback and use the answer to shape your following practice.

Do You Need Private Dance Lessons? Choosing Useful Feedback

Private dance lessons can be useful when you want individual attention on a clear problem, but they are one part of learning. Group classes, online lessons and focused practice also contribute. Before deciding how much extra instruction you need, identify what you want feedback to resolve. A precise question makes any feedback opportunity easier to use.

Do I need private dance lessons to improve?

Private lessons can help when you need individual feedback on a specific problem. They are not the only way to improve: focused practice and appropriate group learning also matter. Arrive with an observable question so a private session can address more than an unspecified wish to be better.

Prepare a question that feedback can answer

  1. Choose a short movement you can demonstrate consistently. Record equivalent attempts if recording is part of the feedback arrangement. Ask permission before recording another person and follow the teacher’s submission instructions.
  2. Describe what happens rather than label yourself a poor dancer. For example, explain that you lose the count after one turn or feel unclear about a direction change in a specific role.
  3. Ask which single adjustment to prioritise and how to practise it. A useful answer should lead to a manageable task you can revisit between lessons, rather than an ever-growing list of corrections.
  4. Repeat the task after practice and compare it under similar conditions. If you study both roles, state which role the question concerns. A solution for your leading may not address the same movement while following.

Check current Academy course and membership information for available learning and feedback options. Choose an arrangement that matches the question you have and the practice you can sustain. The purpose of feedback is to guide the next attempt, not replace it.
